“The problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude about the problem.”
-Captain Jack Sparrow, from Pirates of the Caribbean
Sometimes when we’re faced with a problem we get annoyed and irritated, we complain to anyone who will listen, argue with others about it, post it on social media (because we have an audience), and generally, as Jack so wisely stated it’s our “attitude about the problem” that starts to become the problem.
Maybe its out natural defense mechanism or just the desire to have an audience to complain to, but when faced with a problem shouldn’t the first response be to consider the question: what is the solution to the problem? If we focused our energy and resources on that, our attitude about the problem might be less of a problem, it would then become part of the solution. Ah, if only it was that easy.
